iC SuperCOMPUTERS wins Best Retail
This FREE Event was open to the public, courtesy of Two Rivers Community Development Centre, to celebrate Business Success with the 5th Annual Business Awards & Tradeshow. Open Ceremonies took place at 5pm.
This is the first year that iC SuperCOMPUTERS has been nominated for an award. The nomination was good enough for iC SuperCOMPUTERS staff. We didn’t expect to win and were blown away to learn that we had won this prestigious award in our category by an overwhelming majority.
Winners in the other categories were also presented awards (see list of award recipients below).

Donna Messer hosted the event with an interactive live demonstration on how business networking works (and worked long before FaceBook, MySpace and other Internet based social networking sites came in existence).
David Moses of D.A.M. Studios and crew were on hand to record the event for DVD (I guess we can’t say “film” the event anymore). They also played movie clips for each business on the big screen for a standing room only audience each time a recipient entered the stage to receive their award. (I guess we are now officially, SNollywood).
Shirley Smith - who founded the first newspaper in Six Nations - received the biggest award of the night - The Life Time Achievement Award. Her son, Scott Smith, had the honour of accepting the award on her behalf.
It was a DAM good movie and it made everyone on stage feel like a celebrity. Outside the theatre, people could sit and watch the live presentation (which included the pre-recorded clips) while they ate from the snack bar on cool “green” tables (referring to the fact that they were made of recycled tires.
A lot of laughs when Gregory - our store baby - appeared on the big screen sporting a Mohawk hairdo and acting as an iPod test technician. Gregory became in instant star and a big hit with the crowd who gracefully gave him attention all night. And, it was obvious that Gregory (who never cried out once during the night) enjoyed the star treatment.
The GREAT Opportunity Building offers spectacular architecture. It makes one ask, “Who built this?” and “What software did they use?”. The reason is because is unlike the many square buildings one might come to expect. It’s circular structure and impressive spaces conjured up wonderment for me. (We’re not in Kanas anymore, Toto).

Through the looking glass windows of surrounding rooms you could see the cool looking iMacs that were in use (Yes, Donna, these were purchased from iC SuperCOMPUTERS). (it certainly was a great opportunity to see iMacs in the G.R.E.A.T. (Grand River Education and Training) Opportunity Building.
It was a real pleasure to tour the area, network with area businesses, participate in Donna’s live presentation telecast and enjoy the professionally run show.
Attendees also got to checkout what’s new from Apple, including the new iPod Touch, at the iC SuperCOMPUTERS booth while at this event, which took place at The GREAT Opportunity building, 16 Sunrise Court in Ohsweken. (Directly across the street from the Iroquois Village Plaza in downtown Ohsweken (Chiefswood Road - just north of 4th Line Road).
iC SuperCOMPUTERS had good representation. Present at the event was, Jessie Jamieson, Wray Anderson, Kaela Montague, Maggie Gui Montague, Gregory Montague, Fred Vermeer and Ryan Janssen (not to be confused with Ryan Johnson - who was performing with his band, The Breaking Wind, at the time of this event).
