Norfolk County Fair: 3rd PhotoBooth event
 
Simcoe was cool. As we approach Halloween weekend we are noticing the photos are getting freakier. Of all the photos taken at the Norfolk County Fair this year, 134 were chosen as the best by participants. The music was also getting scarier, during the course of the event we heard the Pink Panther theme song, the theme music from the movie Halloween, plus the music of Usher, 50 Cent, AC-DC, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, the Beatles and others. Simcoe is always good for some interesting Jams on GarageBand. The biggest day of the NCF is generally Kid’s Day, which was Tuesday. However, this year it Paul Brant and his band that drew the biggest crowd turnout ever. The Agricultural Passport event was also a big success this year. The top prize was an iPod nano (donated by iC SuperCOMPUTERS). This was won by Brantford resident, very cool. (See list below to find out who won). Below is the official release for this year’s Passport Winners: Kids at Fair Discover Agriculture and Win October 10, 2006, Simcoe- This year’s Norfolk County Fair & Horse Show was once again the site of a fair-wide agricultural scavenger hunt. The Discover Agriculture scavenger hunt began on Wednesday of the fair and ran through to Monday and saw children traveling all over the fair with their passports in search of the answers to the questions in the passport. Once the children had the answers to the questions, they received a stamp and could move on the next location. Once their passports were complete they received a ballot and were entered into a draw for some fantastic prizes. This year’s grand prize package consisted of an iPod nano, which was generously donated by iC SuperCOMPUTERS of Oshweken, a pass for two to an advanced screening in Toronto of the new feature film, ‘Flicka,’ starring Tim McGraw, a handful of official ‘Flicka’ merchandise, and a gift certificate from King’s Garden Centre. The lucky winner of this year’s grand prize was Blayze Crawford of Brantford Twenty-nine other lucky winners received a ‘Flicka’ prize package consisting of a pass for two to the advanced screening and official merchandise.
